This salmon sings a shamans song. (Try saying that 10 times
fast!) The notes in Salmon Song
are the beginning of an actual shamans chant, as
recorded in the literature about the Tlingit peoples of Yakutat,
Alaska. The shaman or boy associated with many salmon stories
from the Northwest Coast lies just above the lateral fin.
